DO I NEED TO HAVE A LARGE SOCIAL MEDIA FOLLOWING TO APPLY?
No! The people who do the best in this role are ones that are comfortable speaking to new people, the status of your own social media is not important.
WHEN IS THE DURATION OF THE INTERNSHIP?
The Fall internship runs from August 19th until December 15th!
WHAT DO YOU LOOK FOR WHEN PICKING INTERNS?
When selecting interns, I look for people who are full of energy, are comfortable talking to people they might not know, and ones who don’t take no for an answer! This internship has its highs and lows, and the people who do best are the ones who love to connect and network.
WHAT IS ONE PIECE OF ADVICE YOU WOULD GIVE INCOMING INTERNS?
The one piece of advice is to not give up! You’re not as annoying as you feel, and I promise the persistence will pay off!
HOW CAN I STAND OUT IF I HAVE NO PRIOR EXPERIENCE?
You can stand out by simply being yourself and having well written ideas and answers when filling out the application. I really look for your individual personality to come through during the video interview portion especially!
WHAT IS THE APPLICATION PROCESS LIKE?
Super easy! You will apply using the link above and then receive an email to do a video interview. Once you do the video interview, you are done! You will hear back August 11th in regards to if you are accepted or not! If you aren’t, please apply again in the Spring!
DO I HAVE TO BE IN A FRATERNITY OR SORORITY TO APPLY?
Nope!
DO I HAVE TO BE IN A CERTAIN GRADE?
Nada! This internship is open for all college students, whether you are a freshman or a super senior!
INTERN SPOTLIGHT
I’ve absolutely loved my time as an intern at The Hang Loose Hut, where I’ve gained hands-on experience in sales, marketing, and networking with people both on and off campus. By building simple habits, you can be extremely successful and close orders—which is super rewarding! I wanted to prove to myself and my team that hard work leads to great outcomes, and earning the title of Intern of the Month was even more motivation to keep pushing forward—because the possibilities and support here are endless!

We first got in contact and met when we both became HLH interns this year. We went out for coffee to chat about our plans for the semester and instantly clicked. Since being part of a mostly remote/online-focused internship was a little intimidating, having each other to work with was so exciting. We became super close right away. Having another intern on campus (especially when they’re now one of your best friends) is amazing and makes everything SO fun. We’re able to bounce ideas off each other, reach out to Greek organizations together, and bond over our love for Hang Loose. We’re constantly together outside of our internship work too—tanning, getting food, going to each other’s sorority events, or just hanging out. Hang Loose doesn’t just make merch—they make friendships. ;)
